About Dakshineswar

Dakshineswar is the northern terminus of the Blue Line, opened on 23 February 2021. It sits next to the famous Dakshineswar Kali Temple on the Hooghly River — a 19th-century Bhavatarini temple visited by millions every year and famously associated with Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa.

The station is elevated and connects the temple complex directly to central Kolkata via a single metro ride. A foot-bridge from the station leads to the temple's entrance.

The station has open plazas on both the temple side and the river side, with views of the Vivekananda Setu bridge.
