About Behala Chowrasta

The iconic intersection at Behala — a major South Kolkata commercial and residential hub.

Behala Chowrasta is the crossing at the heart of Behala — four roads meeting, with the market, the tram terminus that used to be here and the constant press of Diamond Harbour Road traffic. The station opened to passengers on 2 January 2023 with the Purple Line's first section and is elevated. Behala is one of the largest residential districts of the city and had no rail connection at all until this line opened.
