About Ritwik Ghatak

Named after the influential Bengali filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak (1925–1976).

Ritwik Ghatak is named for the film-maker whose work is bound up with the partition of Bengal, and opened on 25 August 2025 with the Orange Line's northern extension. It is elevated with side platforms. The station serves the Nonadanga and Chingrighata approaches — a part of the Bypass corridor that carries a great deal of traffic towards Salt Lake and had no rail alternative before this.
