About Netaji

Elevated station serving Kudghat / Netaji Nagar in South Kolkata.

Netaji opened on 22 August 2009 with the first elevated extension south of Tollygunge, and was called Kudghat until it was renamed for Subhas Chandra Bose. It is elevated with two side platforms — the standard layout for the whole southern extension, and a visible change from the island platforms of the old tunnel. The station serves the residential streets around Tollygunge Road and the Adi Ganga, the silted-up channel that was once the main course of the Hooghly.
