About Kavi Nazrul

Named after Kazi Nazrul Islam (1899–1976), the rebel poet and Bangladesh's national poet. Interchange between Blue Line and Purple Line.

Kavi Nazrul was the end of the line for a little over a year. It opened on 22 August 2009 as Garia Bazar, terminus of the first elevated extension, until the tracks were pushed on to Kavi Subhash in October 2010. It is elevated with two side platforms, and is named for Kazi Nazrul Islam, the rebel poet. Garia Bazar itself — the market that gave the station its original name — is still the busiest thing around it.
