About Barun Sengupta

Named after the renowned Bengali journalist Barun Sengupta (1934–2008), founder of Bartaman newspaper.

Barun Sengupta, named for the journalist who founded the newspaper Bartaman, was called Science City until shortly before it opened — and Science City, the large science museum and planetarium complex, is still what most passengers are here for. The station opened on 25 August 2025 and is elevated with two side platforms. It sits at the junction of the EM Bypass and the road towards Park Circus.
