About Sakher Bazar

Named after the local market. Residential area with traditional markets.

Sakher Bazar opened to passengers on 2 January 2023 and is elevated. The market it is named for is one of the older trading points of Behala, and the streets around it are the kind of long-settled south-western suburb that the metro reached decades after the rest of the city. Behala's Durga Puja pandals, several of them among the most elaborate in Kolkata, fill these roads for a week each autumn.
