About Taratala
Serves the Taratala industrial area with manufacturing and warehousing.
Taratala was the eastern end of the Purple Line for fifteen months: the first section opened to passengers on 2 January 2023 and stopped here, and the single stop on to Majerhat did not open until March 2024. It is elevated. The area around it is industrial and port-related — the Kidderpore dock approaches, warehousing and the Taratala Road interchange — rather than residential, which makes it one of the quieter stations on the line.
