About Majerhat
Majerhat is the northern terminus of the Purple Line, interchanging with Majerhat suburban railway station.
Majerhat is the current eastern end of the Purple Line, opened to passengers on 15 March 2024, and its value is the interchange: the Majerhat suburban railway station is right there, on the line towards Budge Budge, and so is the rebuilt Majerhat bridge. It is elevated. Until the Purple Line is extended further towards Esplanade it remains cut off from the rest of the metro network, so this railway connection is the practical way on into the city.
