About Phoolbagan

Serves the Phoolbagan area of central Kolkata.

Phoolbagan was the Green Line's first underground station, opening on 4 October 2020 when the line was extended one stop west of Salt Lake Stadium and dipped below ground for the first time. It has a single island platform. The name means 'flower garden'; the reality above is the dense Kankurgachi and Phoolbagan streets, with the Bengal Chemicals works and the CIT Road corridor close by. It is a short hop from here to Sealdah.
