The Yellow Line (Line 4) is the Noapara–Barasat corridor. Its first operational phase runs 6.8 km from Noapara to Jai Hind (Biman Bandar), giving Kolkata its first direct metro link to the airport — Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport.

This phase opened on 22 August 2025 with four stations: Noapara, Dum Dum Cantonment, Jessore Road and Jai Hind. The Jai Hind (Bimanbandar) station sits above the country’s largest underground metro yard.

The Yellow Line interchanges with the Blue Line at Noapara. It is being extended in further phases towards New Barrackpore and ultimately Barasat (10 stations, 16.9 km in total), which is currently under construction.
