About Jai Hind (Airport)

Jai Hind (Biman Bandar) is the airport terminus of the Yellow Line, opened on 22 August 2025. It gives Kolkata its first direct metro link to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, and sits above the largest underground metro yard in India. Change at Noapara for the Blue Line and the rest of the network.

Jai Hind — signed as Biman Bandar, the airport — is the northern terminus of the Yellow Line and Kolkata's first direct rail link to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. It opened to passengers on 25 August 2025, having been inaugurated three days earlier, and is underground. Below and around it is the largest underground metro stabling yard in India, built here because there was no room for a surface depot beside the airport.
