Frequently asked questions
When the fastest route needs a change of line, the planner routes you through the relevant interchange — Esplanade (Blue ↔ Green) or Noapara (Blue ↔ Yellow) — and adds the walking time between platforms. The Blue ↔ Orange interchange at Kavi Subhash is suspended while its Blue Line platforms are closed (since 28 July 2025).
The Purple Line (Joka ↔ Majerhat) is currently a standalone segment with no operational interchange to the rest of the network, so journeys between it and the other lines are not yet possible by metro alone. This will change when the Esplanade extension opens.
Fares follow the official distance slabs: ₹5–₹25 on the Blue Line and ₹5–₹30 on the other lines. When a route changes lines, the planner adds up each line’s fare for its section, as Metro Railway charges on a single integrated ticket (check at the counter). Where the exact distance to a station is not published, the fare is shown as approximate (≈).
